Legal requirements for child safety in vehicles
Children under 12 years old and shorter than 135cm must use an appropriate child restraint system. Fines for non-compliance range from €120 to €600.
Must be rear-facing. Can be placed in front seat only if airbag is deactivated.
Can face forward once child is over 9kg. Must be secured with vehicle seatbelt or ISOFIX.
Required until child is 135cm tall or 12 years old. Positions seatbelt correctly across child's body.
